The Melchiorre Agricultural Cooperative is a well-structured, modern agricultural organisation strongly focused on meeting the needs of large-scale retail chains, both on the domestic market and on international markets.<\/p>\n
Over the years, the Cooperative has developed a production and organisational model capable of meeting the standards required by the leading retailers in Italy, Europe and overseas. The company does not limit itself to simple agricultural production, but manages the main stages of the supply chain in-house: delivery, selection, processing, storage, packaging and marketing of products.<\/p>\n
The Cooperative operates primarily within the Italian chestnut supply chain \u2013 a product symbolic of the region and its local agricultural tradition \u2013 but also promotes other produce supplied by its members, including walnuts, plums and olives. Its membership comprises 12 supplier members, who contribute to the company\u2019s growth and to the strengthening of an organised, traceable and quality-oriented local agricultural supply chain.<\/p>\n
One of the distinctive features of the Melchiorre Agricultural Cooperative is its ability to serve customers in the large-scale retail sector with consistency, reliability and high quality standards. The products are sold to large-scale retailers in Italy, Europe and internationally, with a strong focus on exports. In particular, over 65 per cent of sales and exports are destined for the Canadian and US markets, where Italian chestnuts are recognised as a high-quality product with high added value.<\/p>\n
[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][vc_column width=”1\/2″][vc_column_text]To meet the demands of modern distribution, the Cooperative has invested in advanced technologies and the automation of production processes. The company has machinery for the automatic sorting of chestnuts, capable of detecting external and internal defects in the fruit, thereby improving the quality of the final product and reducing waste. Packaging is also supported by automated and robotic systems, which enable the production of various pack sizes, including 500 g, 1 kg, 5 kg and 15 kg packs, depending on customer requirements and the target markets.<\/p>\n
The presence of nationally and internationally recognised certifications, including Organic Certification, GlobalG.A.P., GRASP, BRC, ISO 22005, HACCP and FDA, together with the ongoing process to achieve IFS certification, confirms the Cooperative\u2019s commitment to quality, food safety, traceability and the reliability of the supply chain.<\/p>\n
